Horse Brain Seminar with Dr. Peters

Come learn what goes on in between your horses ears and how to form a better relationship with your horse. This 2.5 day seminar will go over the neuroscience of how horses learn and how to best provide the optimal learning environment for your equine partner. There will be classroom sessions plus a live riding demonstration.

LOCATION: Windfall Ranch, Alpine, CA 

TIME:

  • Friday 3:30-5:30pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 9:00am-4:30pm

COSTS: $300

DETAILS: Dr. Peters is a Neuroscientist specializing in brain functioning. As a horse brain researcher, he has given Equine Brain Science seminars/presentations and performed Horse Brain dissections around the world for the horse owning public as well as Veterinarians and Veterinary Surgeons.

He is the co-author with Martin Black of the book “Evidence-Based Horsemanship”. He and Martin participate together in quarterly EBH virtual clinics (Martinblack.net) and the annual EBH colt starting clinic in Maine.

Dr. Peters has been a frequent presenter at “The Best Horse Practices Summit” and at Warwick Schiller’s “Journey On Podcast Summit”. He also provided significant contributions to the book, “Horsehead: Brain Science & Other Insights”.

He has collaborated with Canadian Psychotherapist Sarah Schlote to create the Equuscience Master Course, (A trauma-informed and evidence-based lens on horse-human relationships) and educational focus classes such as The Neurobiology of Learning. (Equuscience.com).

Dave Gamble Horsemanship Clinic

Dave gets to know each student and the relationship they have with their horse in order to best serve each horse and rider. Students will gain insight and a better understanding of how to create a willing partnership with their horse. Each day builds upon the next in a progression style of learning.

LOCATION: Olivewood Acres, Alpine. 

TIME: AM session 9:00am-noon
Lunch noon-1:30pm
PM session 1:30-4:30pm

COSTS: $425 for am sessions, or $665 for three full days

November 7-10, 2024

Martin Black Clinic

Martin Black is willing to share his knowledge and experience with anyone serious about improving themselves and their horses. He has helped everyone from recreational riders to top horse-trainers in cutting, reining and racing, cowboys, cow-horse competitors, ropers, show-jumpers, and eventers. Everyone can improve their horsemanship by learning how to be more effective presenting themselves to their horse and learning to understand how the horse perceives them as an individual. Martin will build confidence in the horse and rider and take you to the next level, whatever that might be.

Roby Moreland Horsemanship Clinic

Roby Moreland is a horse trainer based in Weatherford, TX. He spent almost a decade at McGinnis Meadows Ranch in Libby, MT and has studied horsemanship under some notable mentors. He is currently pursuing a career in the performance horse arena

Paul Dietz

A humble horseman and not “just another” horseman/clinician. Paul’s knowledge of horses is exceptional and he is gifted with communication and teaching skills reaching far beyond the average and into the handful of “top professional” horsemen today.

Horse Brain Seminar

with Dr. Stephen Peters

Have you ever been curious about the science behind how your horse thinks and reacts? Dr. Peters, and equine neuroscientist, will be in San Diego to present a seminar to help us better understand our equine partner and get more out of our rides and time spent with our horses.

Dr. Peters has partnered with renowned horseman, Martin Black, to co-author Evidence Based Horsemanship. This seminar will mainly be a classroom setting and include a hands on dissection of a horses brain.

COSTS: $300 person
